Box 2101

On Monday morning, the Union Fire Company No. 1, along with 2 Engines from Stations 12 and 22 (West Grove) and the Truck from Cecil County Station 8 (Rising Sun), were alerted for a Building Fire on South Fourth Street in Oxford Borough.

Chief 21 was advised that the police were on the scene with heavy smoke on the third floor. With this, the Working Fire Dispatch was added, bringing additional fire apparatus to the scene, including Rescue 27 and Rescue 5-7 for RIT, Medic 94 and additional units from West Grove and Rising Sun. Chief 21 established Command upon arrival.

Engine 21-1 arrived and the crew pulled an attack line and advanced it to the fire building. Once access was made to the third floor the fire was quickly extinguished while a primary search was performed.

Ladder 21 arrived, with the crew positioning the aerial to the front of the building, while Engine 21-2 took the hydrant at Market and South Fourth.

Engine 21-4 staged on Fourth St while additional units staged on Market Street and reported to the Manpower Pool.

Once the situation was brought under control, command began releasing apparatus, with all 21 Units clear before noon.
