Ozaukee County EDACS System Status ? - May 2025

Looking for confirmation that the Ozaukee County EDACS system is still on the air.

I don't hear any EDACS control channel noise on the old 856.7125-860.7125 or 856.7625-856.7625 frequencies, only P-25 control channel and P-25 transmissions.

Might be time to deprecate this one in the database.

I had an appointment in the North Shore area today and took a swing through Mequon. I didn't hear any EDACS CC's or voice traffic so it appears after 30+ years the system has been officially retired.

The only department that was still using it was Grafton FD for paging, it was shut down a few months ago... there are talks that Ozaukee county fire departments might go encrypted...

30 years for a 24-hour-a-day/365-days per year system is nothing to sneeze at in terms of reliability...
