Our local fire system has started using a P25 system for their TAC channels. The list I saw has a TAC #, frequency and NAC number. Like this
HFD TAC 1 851.6750 NAC 121
HFD TAC 2 853.1375 NAC 122
etc

How do I put that into a fav list? My first thought was create a system that had 5 departments, but how to assign a frequency to just 1 TAC channel? Is this what Home Patrol calls a "conventional", "P25 standard", "P25 one frequency", or "P25 X-2 TDMA"? Is it possible I have to create 5 different systems to handle this arrangement? Thx

The 2 tac channels you list appear to be conventional frequencies for Hartford City. Hartford County, Connecticut (CT) Scanner Frequencies and Radio Frequency Reference (radioreference.com) Wethersfield has its own P25 trunked system. Wethersfield (P25) Trunking System, Wethersfield, Connecticut - Scanner Frequencies (radioreference.com) Let me know if you have any more info and I will help creating a favorites list for you. Are you using HomePatrol Sentinel with the orange icon?
I should have been more specific. My weathersfield favorite list is working fine and is quite extensive. I want to create a separate favorites list for the Hartford fire department and I need to figure out how to do that when there are five different tech channels each on a different frequency but still p25

Using HomePatol Sentinel, create a conventional system with those frequencies. Click on the Audio Option column and select Digital as the Audio Type. Under Digital Option, select the proper NAC code.

Also: Conventional vs Trunked is different from Analog vs digital. You appear to be working with Conventional Digital channels which work just like any other conventional channel except that these have a NAC instead of CTCSS/DCS tone. It's basically the same thing.

Edit: I forgot about your original post. Normal conventional allows you to program one channel at a time. I don't have any P25 conventional channels in my area to test, but I'm assuming P25 One Frequency allows you to set up the channel as a system and use the advanced features of the HP2 on it as if it were a trunked system. Others will know for sure.

You do know you can add to the favorite list you have easily by going into Sentinel, finding those 5 freqs, right clicking and choosing append to favorite list? All your doing is adding a system with 5 conventional P25 freqs. Just make sure to give it a quick key to turn on and off and always "read" your scanner before doing anything in Sentinel.

He has an HP-2, so there's no quick keys.

Never knew that. Thought the all the Hp's had quick keys. Does Sentinel work the same for what I described on that radio like it does on a 436?

Yes almost exactly. Settings are a little different but the layout and order of similar options are basically in the same locations. Since it's all touch screen you just click from one FL to the next.

On the x36HP & SDS series scanners, the decision on whether or not to use Location control is in the Options tab of the list.

For the HP-1 & HP-2 scanners, the location setting in Sentinel is in the same tab where you designate which lists should be download, and which should be monitored by default. There is a third column to choose whether or not Location control is enabled by default for each specific list.

Of course, for the HP-1/-2, you don't have quick keys, and you cannot set an alert light for a given channel or talkgroup. However, you can set an alert tone if so desired.
