Hi folks,

Just was curious if there is still alot of traffic on the p25 ham radio side of things with the hotspots. I've been debating about getting into it but just was curious how used the networks are these days. Not alot of info on it on you tube. Thought I'd try and get more info here.

I have a ZumSpot set up for P25 and DMR. I use my APX 8000 for P25, but there is not a LOT of traffic. I used to chat from time to time in the AR-15 and TGIF talk groups. I think more people listen, so if you make a call there is a decent chance someone responds.

In general, I haven't been hearing much activity at all across HF, U/VHF, or DV in my major metropolitan city.

If you aren't hearing activity on HF, something is wrong. The HF bands have been hopping 24/7. Could be your noise floor or something in the city.

Probably a combination of my noise floor and antenna. I need to get a new wire antenna up but it's so hot in Texas right now and it has to be HOA-proof so it will take some time.
