Time has told, it positively works on Phase 2 2-slot TDMA.

• Project 25 Phase II, 4 slot TDMA voice is not supported.

Just to clear up any confusion, P25 Phase II is two-slot TDMA...there is no such thing as "4 slot TDMA" for P25 Phase II.

OpenSky uses four-slot TDMA (not monitorable by any scanner on the market)

Sorry,
Thanks for fixing that Chauffeur6.

No need for an apology, I just wanted to clarify for anyone reading the GRE announcement and wonder what the heck "4 slot TDMA voice" is, and how it's related to Phase II. It's not, and they probably should've worded it better so as not to confuse anyone. :)

Ok, first bug? TDMA mode ENC isn't handled gracefully at all when set to "Audio Tone" and -24dBm.

The busy tone sounds at the reduced audio level and the digital noise blasts out over the tone at full volume.

Same here, but it's always done this on X2 so no big surprise.

Hi Chris;

Just to clear up any confusion, P25 Phase II is two-slot TDMA...there is no such thing as "4 slot TDMA" for P25 Phase II.

Minus one point for using roman numerals :)
Minus half a point for "no such thing as 4 slot TDMA for P25" (hang on, I'll explain).

OpenSky uses four-slot TDMA (not monitorable by any scanner on the market)

Minus one point for this; there are two flavors of Opensky, one is four slot, the other is two slot.

About the 4 slot TDMA for P25: the identifier update messages - per the official P25 specification - may announce 2 or 4 slot band plans. No doubt GRE knows this. However, I am not aware of any vendor actually selling such a thing. As a practical matter, we need only worry about 2 slots for Phase 2 (which is what I think you were really trying to say anyways).

Further discussion in the P25 forum if needed.

Just for you! :D

Yes, that is what I meant. As a practical matter, there is no functional "four-slot TDMA" for P25...yet.

Correct. My point was that only OpenSky is using four-slot TDMA currently. I wasn't trying to suggest that OpenSky only comes in four-slot TDMA flavor.

Looks like about 40 systems on that list - but which ones have converted from X2 to Phase II?

Maybe we need a new list? Hello, any db admins here?

Yeah, it looks like they can now split it in two lists for X2 and PII. For now you can just click on each one to find out if they're PII. I know, a pain and time consuming.

If you go through the systems, you will see which are X2 and which are P2. Look at the System Type field.

12 out of the 38 systems on that list are Phase II, and at least one of them is Phase II but is still flagged X2 for some reason.
