Has anyone tried the PSR-800 with the new firmware on the Mississippi State system? I've posted there a few times but seem to be ignored.
For limited definitions of "simple".
I'm with Don on this. Good job GRE team, you know who you are. I'm sure it was not easy.

 Yeah, simple, it only took them better than a year and a half of working on it to get it to public beta. :lol:I'm with Don on this. Good job GRE team, you know who you are. However long it took, it is here and working now, so great job GRE!
Good point Don, I guess they did have to wait for some actual systems to be deployed. Duh, me.That's presuming they actually worked on P2 for that long (they didn't).
Well that's a bummer. Hope they can remedy that. Does it mute the noise with "Silence" selected?Same here, but it's always done this on X2 so no big surprise.
Cool, hadn't been there yet. Though hopefully that is just a rough start and they can bring it up to 21st century standards instead of it's current Windows 3.1 level. LOL (at the very least add a option to load from subfolders, if possible.)For those who didn't notice, in the ezscan software after the 1.07 update from yesterday in the audio tab, there's a new 'read disk' button, letting you import/read audio files you previously moved off the scanner and view them once again in ezscan with all the attached data on the files intact like tgid, rid, time, ect. This is a feature I've been asking for and glad to see.

Also does the TDMA(either X2 or PII) audio in general seem louder to you than FDMA? Either previously or currently? I know PII TDMA audio seems noticeably louder here than FDMA.
I don't notice that here, I would imagine it might be a level setting thing on the system you are monitoring assuming you have digital AGC turned on.Well that's a bummer. Hope they can remedy that. Does it mute the noise with "Silence" selected?

Does your shoulder hurt?
Nope. How about you?
I am not in the stream of this development in any way, other than loading the public test beta on my radio. However, I do notice that the radio does recognize that it is getting encrypted traffic on the TDMA channels. Right now I am listening (well hearing is a better term) to an encrypted conversation in P2 on a system and am watching the icon switch between "D2" and "E" on line 1. I would imagine since the radio is recognizing it as encrypted, sooner or later, they will get the settings to work on the TDMA transmissions....It doesn't appear the encryption settings do anything on either flavor of TDMA at this time.
Let me add something I just noticed in reference to my previous reply.
I had the volume turned down to a soft level on my PSR800 and was monitoring with Unitrunker (fed with a different radio) in an effort to try and map out the RIDs and TGs being used on P2. All of a sudden I realized, that I was hearing, at the beginning of each transmission the beginning of the "busy signal" that I have the PSR800 set for encrypted traffic before it stopped and I started hearing the gobbldy-gook of the encrypted transmission. Since it did not stay on during the transmission it probably got that initial notification from the channel grant. That would tend to go along with the statement in the release notes that limited data is available from the actual phase 2 transmission (no RIDs) but that doesn't explain how the "E" continues to be displayed throughout the transmission.
This is certainly not earth shattering news, just an observation for the general knowledge pool.
