I gather you mean that "detection" means that the radio does not decode encryption (not that it ever did)? Can you elaborate?

Possibly used the wrong wording, let's try again. It now (with the U1.3 update) detects an encrypted Phase 2 call and either mutes or plays the tone (whichever you have chosen).

Better?

A note that Pro96Com still doesn't seem to decode any data from the PSR-800 with this new beta update.

Unitrunker does seem to work, though possibly with some complications: sometimes when a channel's transmission ends, Unitrunker still shows a transmission in progress.

Also, a serial terminal does indeed show that control channel data is coming in from the scanner.

After upgrading tp DSP 1.3 and also EZ Scan 1.07.1 it stills shows *DSP 1.2 when I check my updates, any ideas?

Then you likely didn't upgrade the DSP correctly. :)

Mine works just fine.

Did you upgrade the CPU as well? You should have done the following order --> CPU, DSP, Application

Yes, on a X2-TDMA system, the RAW packet dump shows the scanner is decoding information but it doesn't take those packets and do anything useful with them.

I switched to IWN and it started receiving packets *and* decoding those packets immediately.

On the X2 system, I turned off the latency (to 0 ms) and the decode rate started to pick up slightly -- but not enough to get any decode.

I released an update last night that corrects this in Pro96Com.

Good to hear (read) that this is working. The sound wasn't awful at a low volume and since 99.8% of everything on the local P2 system (err, the TDMA part) is encrypted, it will be appreciated when I get back home and I can turn up the volume to catch the .02% of traffic that isn't encrypted.

Mike... Whats the set up for the PSR800 to use the Pro96com?

When I use Pro96Com with the PSR-800, I have the scanner set to a talkgroup that doesn't exist on the system (i.e. 9999). This will cause the scanner to always sit on the control channel, allowing uninterrupted monitoring with the software.

Thanks Mike...
After I posted my request, I found the Read me file and read it (imagine that, someone read the manual !!)

I got it working just fine... Had to get used to not using the GRE USB to 3.5mm cable..

Thanks again

Great that they are listening and updating so quickly. :) I'm sure getting this to market is a huge feather in their caps, and is very important to their future plans.

The encryption muting is working good, though it is still letting through just a little bit of noise between transmissions. Not quite equal to how it works on FDMA, but certainly good enough to live with in case there is no more tweaking to be had there.

All other things being equal, PII TDMA audio is still noticeably louder than FDMA audio. Not painfully so, but still quite noticeable.

Overall, still performing quite admirably here in MS. :)

Where are you getting Phase 2 traffic?

If you look at Motorola's radio page for public safety it sure looks like they're moving to Phase 2.

I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of our P25 Phase 1 systems are upgraded over the next few months.

It's a pretty healthy investment... Are you sure they will be doing it before the year is out? Why? I hear no plans for any of my area systems, include the statewide MPSCS system, anytime soon.

Kiss of death for Uniden fans like me.

Why? Do you have inside info that they aren't developing anything for Phase 2?
