Does this mean I can use my PSR edit and receive TDMA Phase II on my GRE 500?
The 500 doesn't receive phase II.

His profile (and post) says he's in MS, so maybe the MSWIN system?
Hmm, well, as I happen to be in MS, with an 800 (and other radios) I was just wondering, since we have no TG's ID'd in the DB as TDMA. Guess I will try and see over the weekend.ayep...
Why? Do you have inside info that they aren't developing anything for Phase 2?

No. The PSR-500 is not capable of Phase 2 TDMA.

Thanks for the reply. I received my PSR-800 yesterday from Scanner Master, with the update already installed. I guess I will need to get started learning how to program it. Do you know of any programs/posts that would help me to do that--something like "Programming the 800 for Dummies!"
Just noticed a second Beta version of the upgrade on the GRE America Website just added today. "GRE PSR-800 P25 Phase 2 Public Beta Upgrade 2" GRE PSR-800 P25 Phase 2 Public Beta Upgrade 2 - Powered By Kayako SupportSuite Maybe this fixes the X2 issues?
Jim, can you please start your own thread with a subject specific to your help request? You'll get better help and won't clutter up an unrelated topic. Thanks.I just got my GRE PSR 800 a couple of days ago and am trying to learn how to program it to "customize" the scanlists. To down load this version, do I just plug the cable into the scanner and computer and downloand the attachment. Is that all there is to it? Will it change any of the work I have done on the scanlists? Should the radio be on or off when I download. Thanks in advance for taking the time to answer my questions. I appreciate it!
Same thing happened to me,it corrupted my card, glad that I always have 2 backup cards on hand.
All other things being equal, PII TDMA audio is still noticeably louder than FDMA audio. Not painfully so, but still quite noticeable.
Ok I officially retract this statement. The "hotter" TDMA audio has become quite annoying. Turning on AGC seems to make little to no difference whatsoever either.
Sure hope there is something they can do to even this out some.
Seems like one of those knowledgeable radio techs ought to be able to do something about that. Now that I have Phase 2 TDMA and FDMA on the same system I see what you mean. It is annoying.

New issues with Loudoun County, VA and Beta2
Over the past few weeks (maybe 3) I have noticed the scanner acting like it did with the first beta CPU and DSP update. It will sit on a TG and "stutter". I've also noticed TGs getting mixed up (was hearing patient reports on a sheriff's office TG). Last week I noticed that when it was trying to decode data, a 900MHz freq showed up as the voice channel, which is wrong.
I just backed it down to the first beta release. So far there hasn't been a lot of traffic to tell if it's working better or not.
It is only acting like this on the Loudoun Co., VA X2 TDMA system.
UPDATE: Beta 1 is acting the same way.
UPDATE: Just backed it down to CPU 1.6 and DSP 1.1 and it seems to be acting better now. More traffic, no stuttering or mixed up TGs.
