I sure hope they aren't running encryption in Spartanburg. I wish I was there so I could run UniTrunker, but I'm on the coast of NC.

Spartanburg is in the clear. Spartanburg Simulcast up and running. See the database for updated sites and a few new talkgroups. I'll add more as I identify them. Folks in Greenville, Pickens, Oconee Counties, please submit new talkgroups as you discover them. Please consult the database to see if the talkgroup has already been listed BEFORE submitting talkgroups. Use CNTL+F in your browser on the main Palmetto P25 database page to search for the talkgroup. Or use the "List All in Single Table" link for a numeric order listing.

Is Spartanburg County Fire going to migrate to the new system, or will they remain on VHF? I would imagine that they would keep the VHF for paging, but didn't know if County Fire has any talkgroups on Palmetto 800 (P25).

I think they will stay on VHF Frequencies since it haven't been too long go they upgrade the fire operation channel and two tactical channels to repeaters systems and back in June city fire switch from uhf channel to Vhf frequency it would cost a lots to upgrade all county fire radios to 800 p 25 there is a hazmat 800 channel and n Spartanburg fire got a 800 talk group as they used it yesterday to commcate with Spartanburg before last night switch to p-25

Spartanburg fire departments are going to remain VHF. North Spartanburg used to have a P800 talkgroup and now have a P25 talkgroup, with all P25 radios. This is because of hosting HAZMAT (which also has their own talkgroup) and interoperation with state agencies like USC Upstate Police, I believe.

Thanks Brian for beating us all to it! Glad the kept the same broadcast freqs for the sites. Makes the job easier.

Now that the transition from Mixed mode for P25 for Palmetto 800 is complete, I'm going to ask that this thread be closed and removed from sticky status. Feel free to open additional threads regarding sites or talkgroups for this system.

I will un-sticky and lock it.
