Hi Everyone,

I need some help please. I have a Panasonic Toughbook CF-29. I think I might have fried the motherboard. I was having charging issues and tried a few different AC-Adapters. I tried one and the unit started charging for a minute or two and then shut off. It then had a weak odor of gun powder coming from the side of it. The unit now will not turn on at all anymore. I am looking for a replacement motherboard or someone who can help me fix this one. I called the manufacture and they said that the motherboard that was compatable with the unit was DL3UPB465DCR. PLEASE HELP!!!!!

These older Panasonic Toughbooks are cheap and plentiful on the used market. Municipalities auction them off by the pallet load when they upgrade. Check out some used computer and electronics salvage shops in your area. One of my favorite used computer shops here in Missouri probably has a few of these lying around and I believe they will ship. They had a ton of silver Toughbooks that they bought at auction the last time I was in there. Send me a PM if you want their info.

There's better and cheaper ways to find rare stuff like this than Ebay. We're all here to help each other. Never hurts to ask fellow forum members for help. My info... as promised... has been passed along.
