New user using sentinel w/sbs200. Installed a Bergen County file - the one with PD Dispatch 1-19. No Paramus. Read on another thread Paramus may be moving towards encryption or are they still analog? Any help appreciated.
There's a rather lengthy list of police codes on this page, do a browser search for "Paramus" and you'll find it towards the bottom of the page. Site's been online for about 2 decades so not sure how much of the info is still valid/in use...Not encrypted but it's almost all gibberish anyway
Paramus is still analog. No switch to fully encrypted yet, although it is reportedly coming very soon. I monitor both of their repeater channels daily and there have been radio techs on and off the air for the past few weeks. Some of the radios seem as though they’ve been set up already. And yes, they do make heavy use of 10 codes. The 10 codes on the list that was linked above are still good. All reports are that the PD will encrypt, but FD and EMS will not.New user using sentinel w/sbs200. Installed a Bergen County file - the one with PD Dispatch 1-19. No Paramus. Is channel 3 (460.075) going to remain analog, or will it be switched to a digital mode? That is correct. Channel 1 (460.500) will go encrypted and Channel 3 (460.075) will remain in the clear along with FD/EMS.
All patrol units have been issued updated subscribers (Kenwood) and new subscriber units installed in the cars (Kenwood again)
Was told the switch is coming within the next month
Switched to digital P25Is channel 3 (460.075) going to remain analog, or will it be switched to a digital mode?
Rule one, never cut over on a Friday or weekend!I have to admit when I am wrong (or sources)
Inside sources now reporting channel 1 & 3 are flip flopping. New channel 1 (old channel 3) will be P25E & New channel 3 ( old channel 1) will be analog in the clear for use with mutual aid agencies.
This is supposedly occurring tomorrow.
Makes perfect sense to flip-flop the channels because they were experiencing a significant co-channel interference problem from Newark PD on 460.500 By moving primary dispatch to 460.075, they will eliminate most, if not all, co-channel interference, even though Newark will eventually transition to a 700 MHz system later this summer.I have to admit when I am wrong (or sources)

Hearing transmissions on main dispatch, indicating that Goosetown Communications is in the back of headquarters, waiting for units to arrive to make the change out.Hearing encrypted comms over “current” Police 3 (460.075).
Did they implement a multi-site simulcast system as was originally planned? That’s it. All switched over
