Here are the ARC-XT files. Save the first two zipped files to your computer and extract. Save the third PDF file to your computer. Open the two extracted files with ARC-XT and Upload to Scanner. The PDF file will answer all of your questions about using quick keys. Quick keys as follows:
SYSTEM QUICK KEYS:
1. Pasco Co (Single site)
2. Hillsboro East (Site)
3. Hillsboro West (Site)
Thank you very much, I'm not sure when I will have the opportunity to setup things, but I appreciate your help.

Yes! I right clicked on the Pasco/Hillsborough zip files. I went to upload to scanner & am receiving an error message. I am at my wit's end w/ this. Whatever I attempt to do it does not work or there is another road block. Ready to throw this POS out the window & say screw it. It's impossible to get this programmed/

Do you see the talkgroups in ARC500 when you click on Talkgroup in the Object Browser? You have to open the file with ARC500 before you upload to the scanner. You're getting close. We'll get the scanner programmed.

Yes. Sorry about that. As I mentioned I entered the incorrect keystrokes & then sent it in error. Sorry about that everyone.

Lmao. I used to use Dvorak keyboard in highschool and ended up doing that too much when switching onto the school computers. I also suffered a minor stroke back in 2015. Speaking took so much brain effort and fine motor movements like working with my fingers were near impossible. So I'm glad you don't have to go through that too.

Thankfully though I got into HAM radio and tested a few months later so forcing myself to talk on the radio and tinker with homebrew boards helped me tremendously in recovering. My local club was also very supportive as well.

Hearing FBI today on 163.8875 NAC167 in southern Pasco County. No encryption. Add that to your conventional scan list.

Problem is I don’t know how to program the scanner. It is so frustrating and nothing seems to work
I cant help you on the Radio Shack model you have. I own the SDS100 and primarily monitor federal conventional P25 and some of the local digital trunk systems. If I were you I would try to find a good YouTube video specific to your scanner and then read the printed manual for your scanner as well. Some of these can be quite complex in the beginning.

Maybe you'd benefit from a model that can be programmed via zip code like the SDS-100. You're going to have to spend more money, but it will be less frustrating. You will still need to be able to connect it to software to update the database periodically.

Otherwise, take a break, then open up the easier to read manual and the software manual with an open mind. If you get frustrated and shut down, we're not going to be able to help you here either. The manuals tell you what you need to do.
