I believe 10-12 means "assignment complete", but I've only listened to Paterson PD a couple times in my travels through North Jersey (talk about active; it seemed like Paterson PD went from one call to the next almost instantly, and that was during the mid-day hours). It's been several months since I've been anywhere near Jersey, so my recall may be a little fuzzy...

I work in Paterson, and travel around the city for work, so I monitor it constantly. A couple of the codes are different from this list.
10-50 is "Serving a warrant"
10-99 is "Making a notification"
Most of the good stuff happens under a 10-1.
The Passaic County Sheriff's Dept. uses Paterson's 10 codes.

Actually it's vice versa, Paterson uses Passaic County Sheriff's codes...

According to the Sgt. in Special Ops Communications (who I've known for 25 years) the PCSD had their own 10 codes up until about 10 years ago, but they were having problems with conflicting 10 codes in Paterson (where they are most active), so they decided to adopt Paterson's 10 codes.
