can anyone tell me if any of the PCR scanners will work on a trunking and or APCO-25 digital trunking system, Thanks for the help 73`s

Trunking No, without third party software on a connected computer (applies to all or most models). APCO-25 digital, Yes, but only on the IC-R2500 and IC-PCR2500 by using an optional board (UT-122).

There are serious limitations regarding APCO-25, and ICOM's 2500 series communications receivers. It's my understanding that the P25 module does not work in bands below 700MHz. Added to that, the U.S. version doesn't even cover all of the 800MHz band used for public safety! ICOM claims they "accidentally" blocked out frequencies below, and above the U.S. cellular band. There are numerous other chunks of the spectrum missing from this radio, including portions of MilAir.

It's too bad, it looked like it had potential.

This page has a PCR trunk tracking program - I bought two PCR100's this week and plan to discriminator tap them to try it out.

As Mark and jonny replied, with TrunkPCR you can trunk P25 systems. GreatLakes, the 122 module will decode P25 below 700 MHz. I trunk the San Mateo and MEARA, both UHF P25 Motorola systems everyday. Currently I'm monitoring TSA flight marshals on 170.625, a P25 conventional channel.
With the diode modification (check WIKI page), you will be able to monitor and decode above 740 MHz

Most of the public safety (MPSCS) in Michigan (in my area) is between 865 - 869MHz. Looking the the specs for the U.S. version, it's blocked between 859.899 - 889.100MHz. So from what I'm reading, I would not be able to use it.

Are you using an un-blocked version?

Are you using an un-blocked version?

The US version block starts at 868.0125, which is silly, but not the absolute end of the world. If rebanding ever is complete, this will be a moot point anyway as 866-868.9875 will belong to Nextel.

The diode mod to make P25 work above 780 MHz is simple and is described in the Wiki.

Yes, I am using the unblocked version. I have no affiliation with TrunkPCR, but when using the dual receiver mode in TrunkPCR you can have priority talk groups, this has opened a completely new dimension to trunking for me.
