Hola, he instalado el software PCR1000 en un portátil con Windows 10, versión 2.2. He realizado la comunicación con un cable USB serie ftdi y no tengo comunicación, he probado el cable profile con otro cable y nada. He activado el software en modo compatible con XP, W7, etc. y sigo sin tener acceso al PCR1000. Si algún compañero ha sabido como solucionarlo y me lo pudiera decir se lo agradecería, gracias.

When you use a USB to RS232 serial adapter it should turn up in windows with a comport number without the PCR1000 connected to the cable. It is probably a standard windows driver issue and have nothing to do with PCR1000. The control program you are using for the PCR1000 might also require a low port number at 5 or lower. You can set a comport number manually in windows even if it says that the port number are already in use.

Reviving an old PCR1000

ICOM IC-PCR1000 latest control software and IP1k work very well in windows 10 or 11 64 bits, in my case,

you can even help x64 by installing OTVDM / NTVDM who help run old 16 bits apps in x64 kernels

I used an FTDI usb to rs232 at 9600 baud in windows or put 115200 bauds, some CH340 cables works too

My PCR1K works great using dosbox software and Probe1k. I'll have to check out the Linux software.

Never heard of NiliBOX before this thread. Downloaded it (Mint 22.1 Graphical), mucked around with the settings and it's controlling my PCR-1000 nicely.

Sitting next to the PCR in my upstairs shack is an OS-535 equipped Pro-2035. I have DOSBox with registered copies of both ProbeV7 and Probe1K installed but running two sessions of the same DOS instance can prove a little tricky. NiliBOX addresses that nicely.

For those who have experience with the program, how do banks/memories work and how can they be configured? The online help leaves a LOT to be desired.

May reach out to the devs about volunteering to add support for the OS456/535, Optocom and a few Ten Tec RX models. Did this for flrig and NiliBOX addresses a few use cases which flrig doesn't.

Wow, my PCR-1000 has been buried under a lot of other projects, I keep forgetting it. I do recall it needs some caps replaced and an alignment. Some day.

The registrated Probe program comes with a 80 page book and Probe1K with a 60 page book and you will absolutely need those to be able to properly use all features. Look for a legal size black plastic ring bound book in your book shelves.
