Concho Valley Stroke Plan - the San Angelo helo is listed, but the only freq listed for it is 155.34 - other freqs are listed for other EMS agencies in the area - if anyone can find a trauma plan for the area, perhaps it has a better freq for the San Angelo medevac helo - Peter Sz

Medevac Scanner Frequencies and Radio Frequency Reference - this list shows PHI at Lufkin using 159.8775 PL167.9

The Angelina County page in the database shows PHI Air Med 11 at Lufkin on 151.79 PL 167.9

Perhaps one is a input channel to a repeater ?

kkn50- have you been hearing REACH/SOMethodist helo on 131.300 still? Besides the yellow one with the outlandish paint scheme I've been seeing another red helo with REACH plastered on it in white.

PHI changed two frequencies on their licenses recently. Both are repeaters.
Lufkin 151.5275 changed to 152.3075
College Station 159.8925 changed to 152.3375

Has Collin County switched from Careflight to PHI? I've heard traffic on Lucas/Parker FD's area and hear them say "PHI" - used to say Careflight.

They've been using PHI for quite some time however they changed frequencies several months ago.

They are now using 152.95250 RPT (160.125 RIN). There is also a simulcast on 160.140. Not sure where that is coming from.

160.140 is licensed to PHI in McKinney. FCC Callsign WQAG751 Details
I don't think anybody has ever reported anything on that freq before.

The 160.140 simulcast does not come in as strong in McKinney so I'm wondering if they are using it now at some other location? 152.95250 comes in full bars in McKinney but is supposed to be licensed in Dallas.

According to the license data the 160.14 antenna is only 30ft high on a building at the McKinney airport and the 152.9525 repeater is on the green building in downtown Dallas which is about 950 ft.

If that's where they are transmitting from they must be using 5 watts or less. I receive them on a 90 foot antenna from about three or four miles away. (160.14)

kkn50, I've still never heard any air ambulances on this frequency. I did hear AirCare 1 for the first time today on Texas Fire 1 (154.280) talking to La Vernia medics in Wilson County. It must have been a bad accident, because AirLife 1 was coming in also.

Careflight's base in Frisco has been closed. PHI is now closer to most agencies in Collin County than any of the Careflight choppers are. Occasionally if PHI is out or busy Careflight will be called.

I have not monitored that frequency lately. I will give it a listen but they were loud and clear in the past - base and helo.

Heard a patient report today on 158.400/D051. No ID from helo and no mention of destination hospital other than "get a patient report to 'Tex San'<?>"

Odd to find them on this Itinerant frequency - my company is licensed to use it statewide and I never expected to hear a medical helo on it.
