Four killed, two injured in Philadelphia shooting, police say

Police say a suspect with a semiautomatic rifle, handgun, body armor, and police scanner opened fire and continued shooting as officers pursued him.

Police apprehended a 40-year-old man allegedly wearing a ballistic vest and recovered an "AR-style" rifle and handgun, extra magazines of ammunition, and a police scanner.

It was five dead two more injured including a child, not the only shooting yesterday in Philly and yes there is no photo of the perp but we won't get into that.

Scanner won't make any difference as Philly is streamed on radio reference all districts dispatch and it's a simulcast area and we don't even know what kind of scanner it was. Philly also uses encrypted tac channels for police and fire.

The assault rifle will be the focus, give them time, again not the only shooting yesterday in Philly. Very large number of insurance claims for bullet holes in cars in Philly, regular drive-bys, regular daily shootings and murders.

Just listen to J band, the Citywide flash alert talk group on your phone. No scanner needed.

You can be sure that the police did. As did the media to determine if they should cover the story or bury it.

For those who want to investigate social media, not mainstream media regarding the murderers social media postings, it will say it all.

A very confused person with complex ideologies. Its all over the Daily Mail UK. A dodgy "pay for print" newspaper that apparently has moles inside Menwith Hill passing on secret US traffic as they always have a 24 hour advantage with breaking news.

And yes he/she had a scanner/radio.

Even being reported in Canada he had a scanner. Maybe it had issues with Philly's simulcast and he did not have an SDS scanner. Just a theory...
