I have both Chandler Simulcast C and the Sacaton Mountain towers in my RWC settings, each set to Project25. No sign of any trunking data being received. According to the RR database they should extend into Maricopa. I did at one time receive PPD A4, but just one time.

Current control channel for Simulcast C is 772.10625. If you are having issues receiving from your home, maybe you are getting some local interference. Take the scanner mobile, and try from different locations in town next time you are out and about. Maricopa is well covered by Simulcast C.

That's the ticket - as soon as we left the neighborhood, I was picking up everything, even the UP RR. Anything I can do to reduce the interference? Filters??

You will need to identify the source(s) of interference first, so that appropriate filters can be suggested. If your scanner(s) is/are dead across a wide range of frequencies, there's either multiple sources, or one very wideband source.
Depending on what is causing the interference, a filter may not help. A cellphone tower using 700 MHz LTE may not be able to be filtered out without expensive filters that wouldn't also block what you want to hear in the 700 MHz public safety band, such as the RWC and AZWINS.

I'm glad you determined the source of your issue. Interference from a nearby transmitter is a challenging to overcome. You might try attenuator feature if the radio has that feature. If might work on Simulcast C as you are fairly close to the transmitter.
I am not familiar with a good 800mhz notch filter, but I would recommend searching the the Splitters, Filters, and Multicouplers forum. If there is not any good information that you can find from searching, I would recommend starting a thread about your issue. Some RF engineers participate in that forum, and likely would have some recommendations.

So... I swapped out my RS 800 Mhz antenna for the stock broadband 668, and the darn thing woke up. Still going to order an attenuator so I can mount an outdoor antenna up high and see what we get out here.
