Hello, I hope this is the correct forum and I appreciate your time!
I recently purchased a Tecsun PL-660 from eBay and it seems to have an issue with the frequency lock.
When trying it out I noticed that a known station would tune in manually 100 kHz above the correct frequency.
e.g. Classic FM (in the UK) is on 100.00 MHz but the radio would manually tune in properly and lock FM stereo at 100.10 MHz.
I found the instructions to calibrate the FM frequency offset using the SYNC button, so I did that and when manually tuning everything is now correct.
So I was quite proud of myself and thought I had fixed it.
However, when running an ATS scan (or the [SCAN] in VF mode), it stills locks on and stores the wrong frequency (off by 0.1 MHz).
e.g. Classic FM is found and stored by ATS as 99.90 MHz and I have to switch to manual mode to tune it properly to get rid of the static.
Someone may have been inside this radio as the warranty sticker is missing (or could just have worn off in use, not sure).
If I just have to put up with it I will leave it calibrated correctly for manually tuning and store presets manually but if there is a fix for the scan that anyone knows I would appreciate it.
Thanks,
Andrew
