I totally agree with your whole post. It shouldn't be a fan forum. Even if there are many comments about a scanner having a negative cost/performance ratio it might be noticed by someone and the price will be reduced to attract more people when the first flood of buyers have been satisfied and the manufactures goals have been accomplished.
This is the first time anyone have tried to base a top of the line scanners RF module on a $5 SDR chip so it is probably an experiment to see if it can be done. If there's no complaints the manufacturer might think they can jack up the price on the follow up models as people will still buy them and accepts the flaws without hesitating and thinking, there's nothing wrong with the scanner, it's me, I'm not using a suitable antenna for my area.
