Put the frequencies in like any other trunking site. Set all LCN's to 0

Add your talk groups..

I use Proscan to program my 996p2. I can screenshot my one Tier 3 if you would like to see how my setup works. Only difference will be I figured out the LCN's.

One shot is for the Frequencies, one for the talk groups

I beat my head against it for a month until I got it right. If I can save someone else a concussion, it's worth it ;-)

What happens when you set the LCN's to all zero?

I mean, does the radio still receive the system and just not track trunked conversations correctly or does it receive nothing until you figure out the correct LCN numbering used?

I would hope the DMR capable Uniden's still receive the system when the LCNs are set to 0. It would seem like they should and just not be able to track a conversation correctly until you enter in the correct LCN values.
Kind of like scanning a systems known frequencies when entered in as a conventional system. I also tried figuring out the answers to my questions but my 4 or 536HPs seemed like they were simply skipping any scanning of those frequencies that still had the LCNs at 0. That could have just been the fact the system I was setting up was still new with very little traffic.

What happens when you know some of the LCNs and still have some frequencies set to 0, will it still receive voice on the frequencies with a value of 0 for the LCN or does it just skip those frequencies with a value of 0 and now scan only those with the correct LCN?

These questions apply to DMR Tier 3 systems but I assume other Trunked DMR systems would behave the same in a Uniden scanner.

Thanks for any info you may know!

You may need to keep it on ID search. But it will work. I ran the Cap+ system in the screenshots that way foe a while.

On my last road trip I had to use dsdplus and laptop cause the DT3 system trying to get the lcn or ch id numbers. I'm too far out to pick them up. Make sure you get atleast 2-5 bars of signal and if signal gets lost lcn will reset again. LCN finder can take 1 mint to hours or days depend how the system is active.

Okay, thanks for the info. I honestly never really tried it for long and usually went straight to the LCN Finder when they seemed to fix that in one of the test firmwares for the x36HP models with LCN Finder.

Having confirmation that this works is nice!

Unidens only scan the control channel in DT3 systems. If the LCNs isn't correct you will hear nothing.
You can put all frequencies in a one frequency system and it will scan them all for voice traffic.
This was the only way to scan DT3 systems without loosing a big part of the conversations before Uniden fixed the DMR function.
Now I only miss 10% of conversations in DT3 trunking but programmed as One Frequency system I loose nothing.
But I listen to all TGs. If you lockout TGs it will be slow and probably miss more of the conversations compared to proper DT3 programming.
But as long as you do not have the LCNs it is the only way.
ID search are only to search for talk groups that have not yet been entered in the scanner.

I tried everything and I still don't pickup anything from DT3 programming. I can pick up regular DMR. Thank you all so much for your advice.
