Good Day,

I have tried to listen to PLH Fuel from the info provided on RR however there is no activity at all. I was wondering if anyone knows what freq or maybe even system they are running on?

I have been getting them on 002-0 TG on C & W #3 but have not submitted to the DB since I was trying to confirm for sure if the mobiles were using one of the current freqs shown in the DB as an input. I think I have heard it but not quite sure.

I think they are still using 817.4625 for input.

Looking at this, seems like the submitter made an honest error, thinking
the frequency is conventional, but it is part of a Motorola trunked system.

Download the following system. Note the frequency in question is on Site 2.
Verify you can hear its CC (863.3375).

Christie & Walther (Ottawa #3) Trunking System, Ottawa, Ontario - Scanner Frequencies

Put you radio is ID scan mode and wait 5-10 minutes to see the talkgroup.
There may be other users, but this one will be obvious.

The site Connect Tone is 76.76Hz which is close to 77.0Hz PLL listed, which
could explain why some decoding was possible, but it will not be reliable.

I believe site was down to one voice channel, which would put all activity on
this frequency; which could lead someone tho think it is a conventional
channel. Non-trunked use of 850MHz frequencies is not the usual case.

That TG is not correct, which would be the 2nd incorrect submission
for that user. Make sure your fleetmap is correctly set.

As for input frequency, on a trunked system, there is no need
or point to submitting, as they are standard (-45MHz).

Well that would explain why it was always on 862.4625. Funny thing is that I listened to it for many months in conventional mode and never missed a beat. Then all of a sudden I get nothing, not even a peep. But after putting the C&W system in for another reason, it just popped up.

What would be wrong with the ID? I am pretty sure the fleetmap is entered correctly.

The sizecode for Block 0 (where the TG falls) is Type II, and you give a Type I TG.
Forgive my caginess, I'd like to see others figure these things out, without giving
it all away. At least you're making some effort, whereas the scanner community
has more or less abandoned updating these systems at least in this area (many
commercial ones don't exist, or have changed).

The DB code 2 for Type II block was correct for older Uniden scanners. Is it
correct for newer models? (don't have anything newer than BC780 to check).
Whether you imported the system or programmed manually, I'd check.

A subfleet -0 is not impossible but usually not used for Type I TGs as it is for fleet
call. Every time I see one, it raises a flag.

Dave

I think there is one other VC used at that site but doesn't seem to be very often,
i.e. not rotating. Of course, the alternate CC can also be used as a VC.

OK I will check things out at work on Wed if I have time. Maybe make a couple systems with different fleetmaps to compare. I put this one in by hand one day at work cause we were trying to find something else and I did not have a cable with me. Using a 396XT.

Sort of bizzare since I listened for nearly a year in conventional, with the PL and everything (got that using search on the scanner). Then all of a sudden it went quiet. I figured they made another "change". Was talking to one of the guys a coulpe years ago and he was saying how their radios were crap and then they set up a "repeater" on top of the TC building at the airport.

I have been getting what seemed to be input on 817.4625 (pops up on my "conventional" system) but is is much weaker than it was before.

I should spend some time on the AM stuff too since I know a few of them are different users than the DB says but I have not listened close enough to identify them.

Hey for those that may want to listen. After talking with one of the crews, and spending some time at the airport the TG in DEC format is 1040 for PLH Aviation Srvs. Thanks to all that helped, I have submitted this as well!! though all credit goes to you all thanks again!
