Plymouth township police use to self dispatch years ago before the montco trs system like many other local pd's. When the trs system came in they still utilized their local uhf system for most of their day to day operations, they only used the county system for interoperability and communication with the Eoc. They have since switched to phase 1 p25 on the county trs system but from what I seen and heard their uhf system was still up and strong and being used. I recently seen a officer on foot carrying a county issued APX and also a XPR3500 portable and their local pd channel 453.525 hasn't been active like normal (WNHG262) is still a active license. I also know if they went DMR especially encrypted that a analog won't pick it up. can anyone shine a light if they switched to a DMR repeater and are the rest of the local township channels going to be switching? I know their local fire tac channel and public works channel are still active as ive heard activity on both on their uhf analog frequencies. I know Plymouth community ambulance switched from uhf analog to DMR in the past few years so maybe PD did to for interoperability? I know Upper merion twp is switching most of their local twp communications to DMR. I know DMR is taking over for a lot of business and local private public safety for their old analog non county systems. It just sucks cause its nice to be able to hear local activity then have to listen to PD on the county system in zones and also with the new 7/8 phase 2 system who knows what were going to hear anymore once that's fully activated, again any info helps TIA.
