Sounds like Stations 40 and 41 have been combined to Station 75 after hearing a dispatch for a co alarm and a chimney fire. i'm trying to confirm this with a friend of mine.

They were hit out mutual aid RIT Team assignment for a working structure fire in Brick last night, and I heard them get hit out twice today, all three times as Station 75.

One station (department), 2 actual firehouses or locations. It's common in Ocean County. Barnegat Station 11 has 2 firehouses, as does Toms River Station 25, Stafford Twp. Station 47, Jackson Twp Station 55, Brick Stations 22, 23 (3 firehouses), and 24 to name a few. Cost savings? I'm not a financial wizard but I would think it would have to do with budgets and purchasing equipment.

A little delayed on this response- but yes was in Coast Star (local) newspaper that the two were combined into one operation.

Little Egg Harbor has 3 stations (Parkertown station 70, West Tuckerton station 71 and Mystic Island station 72)

Those are 3 separate fire companies. I was speaking of fire companies that have firehouses in more than one location. Usually, one is the main house and one or the others is/are a sub station(s).

Point Pleasant consolidated both Fire Companies into one Department. Station 40 is now Station 75 and Station 41 is now the substation Station 75-1, similar to Stafford's system. Apparatus remains the same for now. Example Engine 4001 is now 7501 and Engine 4161 is now 7561. The new Tower 7505 is the only unit with the new markings. This was done by members on both Companies under their own terms. The town provided only legal and moral support. Change is hard, but it has been rather positive.

The primary reasons were for improved communications and training through one elected set of officers, one training program, and one meeting. One budget will bring about cost savings.

No Kevin. Point Boro had two separate companies, Stations 40 and 41. They combined into one company. Point Beach still has two companies, Stations 42 and 43.
