Has the Highway Patrol abandoned the 155.370 channel since they have opened up MOSWIN?

Not in Northern Missouri.........I hear troops A & H daily.

When the bands open a little, I can hear troops B, C, D, F, and I as well.

I think the better question to ask would be how many cities and counties have abandoned it.

Untill they actually start to use MoSwin for daily operations and all the counties get there radios set up in their dispatch centers it's going to still be used. and that may be awhile. The last I heard the state had the radio for St.Clair County ready to be picked up. The Sheriff Office just needed to send someone down to be trained on it before it could be released.

The radios are being installed at the PSAP's. They do not need to be "picked up" by the end user agency.

They can be trained in its operation in a few minutes.

155.370 is heavily used in St.Louis and surrounding counties for point to point, hear activity on it daily during pursuits and municipalities calling State for assistance and calling each other for an issue heading their way

I unlocked Point to Point tonight just for kicks & grins. I haven't heard a key up on it in several hours. West Tennessee used to blow me out on it. They must've quit using it too.

As has been stated, Pt to Pt is still very active here in the St. Louis area.
The 154.725 riot channel is also an often used frequency here.

I also here some mobiles on the sheriff channel of 155.730 from time to time. It sounds like they are working along I-70 which is north of me.
Those signals are usually pretty weak but readable. Every blue moon, I hear old voice inversion on 155.730 as well. Same signal strength as the mobiles I hear so I always assumed it is the same pair of users.

St. louis county and stl city also use it to call ISP and vice versa. Sometimes also using ISPERN 155.475 which is still in full use by ISP here in Dist 11

Your nearest ISP headquarters (district 22) is 100 miles from you in Ullin, IL so yea you probably won't be hearing any ISPERN traffic.

But like was mentioned earlier Point-to-point is very much alive in the st. louis area

Yep, as you said, ISPERN traffic on 155.475 is very much alive!
Mostly DWI related traffic out of Illinois. I usually lock it out due to the amount of activity. I've not heard any Missouri traffic in a long time on 155.475 but I'm sure that is due to it being locked out most of the time.
I'd imagine it may be used as mutual aid here in the rural areas. I still see many licenses with it listed here.

When I do monitor it, it always amazes me how many DWI calls I hear from across the river.

Hey Nick, do they use a common PL on 155.475 for ISPERN on 155.475?
I could always do the PL lockout trick on my 780 and then see if there is any MO traffic around here. I've never tried that before.

I monitor it regularly and have it programmed as CSQ. I thought at one time there was a PL tone, and I know they list a few on here but I'm not sure if it locks out mobiles. I'll do a PL search.

I should've clarified that I don't hear MO cars use it UNLESS they cross into IL. Same for IL cars, when they cross over they are SUPPOSED to go Point to Point.

There was a pursuit a few months back from Granite City into North county and Dist 11 was simulcasting on both ISPERN and Point-to-Point.

Also note that there is a TG on starcom that they simulcast on as well. And I noticed they're listing some 700mhz interop with MO frequencies now. Wonder if it'll be the death of Point to point. I know they won't disband ISPERN yet cause there's still a few PDs even in this area that have not gone to STARCOM. Same for IREACH.

Kruser,

try 67.0 PL as a lockout for dispatch (ISP)

I heard one of the local counties talking this afternoon to Poplar Bluff on Point to Point. It seems like it may have been Butler County, but I'm not 100% sure.

Now that a little time has passed...

Has anyone noticed a shift from point to point to the MOSWIN inter-op channels in areas where the HP has transitioned from low band ?

Some areas have embraced the idea of using the region I/O CALL as an alternative to Point to Point, and it works very well. Some are not yet picking up on the idea yet.....
