hi does anyone know the polarity of the mvt7100 for a 12volt ac dc adaptor as there is no info on the scanner

Yup, standard centre pole is positive, confirmed by the schematics.

As a confidence check, you can measure with a multimeter for continuity between the outer of power connector to the outer of the BNC antenna connector. If the meter shows continuity, or within 10 ohms of it, then its confirmed the power connector is centre positive.

Second that - according to one of the Yupi 7100 manuals I have, it is CENTRE PIN POSITIVE
DC External 12 V 200mA
Current consumption140 mA
100mA stand by
