For most people reading this...

In general, Motorola itself supplies the hardware and software for all systems - large and small. 9 out of 10 times it is the local Motorola Service Shop (MSS) that actually installs and maintains the equipment. Such MSS is NOT owned or operated by Motorola. They are local or regional independantly owned and operated businesses.

Yep, good point, and makes me wonder where my "MRSS" came from, maybe I'm confusing it with something else...
Anyway this is the issue we had, Motorola claimed that it was "out of their hands", yet the check went to Motorola. When Motorola pulls their local shop certifications on a frequent basis and rotates them around based on sales levels, things suffer. This was my complaint about them, so much is based off sales and not real needs. It won't be surprising at all to hear Motorola try and weasel their way out of this one by blaming a local contractor. But, as all the Moto fanboys know, Motorola can never do any wrong and they all crap solid gold bricks.

I believe the vendor taking care of the system is Commsource. If I remember correctly, they have had the contract from the get go. They are the only company in the Detroit area that has the blessings from M to install and maintain the gear. They are also a major player in the State of Michigan Digital system.
