Police Merger in Berks County

Effective January 1st, 2010...

Wernersville Borough Police Department and Robesonia Borough Police Department are merging to become the Western Berks Regional Police Department.

Unknown which identifier they will keep, but my guess would be Wernersville's.

(Larger department. IIRC, Robesonia has 1 officer total.)

Doesn't suprise me, department budgets are getting cut. Alot of departments even just have a day/evening shift and covered by state police on the off hours.

Berks-Lehigh Regional Was merged a few years ago, and seems to be doing good.

Good luck to them in the future..

I'm sure they will utilize on of the departments numbering systems for the county radio
