hello, i am new to the forums here, but have used RR for my scanners for a couple of years now. i have an interesting question. im going to try to make it as short and as clear as possible. i recently bought a olympia p324. i bought it so i can use it as small 440 scanner and when i become a ham i can then transmit on my local repeaters. i programed in a couple of the repeaters. and i saw my police department was within the rang of this radio.so i put that in to listen to. (just to listen to.) not being smart i put in the tx freq and pl tones for the police dptmnt. knowing its illegal to transmit on them i knew i never would. yesterday i had my friend over the one friend that touches everything that they are not suppose to. and of course wile i was not in the room he got to my radio. from the other room i heard radio chatter and thought "OH CRAP" sure enough he was on the police freq talking into it like its a joke or a toy i grabbed it from him and i listened in for a wile and they said they were tracing the source of my radio. im a little afraid now. i dont want to go to jail. so my question is can they trace a radio down to me? thanks
