Can you monitor Pomona PD? I have a pro-2096 scanner but I only pick up bits and pieces in the FM mode. When I change it to the MO mode, I pick up nothing. Any suggestions ? Thanks.

Make sure you are using the ICIS (Pomona cell)

Frequencies:
470.0250
470.0500
470.0750
470.1000
482.1625
482.3625

Base 1: 469.050
Spacing 1: 12.5
Offset 1: 380

Base 2: 482.050
Spacing 2: 12.5
Offset 2: 581

Talkgroup for Blue-1 is 37680
The other channels, Blue-2, Orange and Brown are encrypted and cannot be monitored.

If this does not work I can send you a Pro-96 file that I use to monitor Pomona PD. It's much easier to program via the computer than by hand.

Brandon: do you have problems monitoring Pomona ? and, are they digital too? I am a little confused on the base 1 and spacing. On my scanner, I just input the frequencies in a bank and scan. However, when I am in MO mode, I do not pick up anything. When I leave it in FM mode, I pick up partial traffic but I am not picking up the talkgroup.

Frequencies:

470.0500

You MUST use the correct custom trunking tables for your scanner to know which frequency to tune. If you are using a GRE or Radio Shack scanner, you need to enter the correct "Lo" and "Hi" values.

For the Pomona cell:
Base 1: 469.050
Spacing 1: 12.5
Offset 1: 380
Lo Channel 1: 380
Hi Channel 1: 580

Base 2: 482.050
Spacing 2: 12.5
Offset 2: 581
Lo Channel 2: 581
Hi Channel 2: 759

In order to understand the audio, you must have a digital capable scanner.

Do i program both bases in 2 different banks? How do i go about programming these in a pro-96 digital trunking scanner. And what mode are them? I try them in MO because it is a motorola system but it will only pick up on FM.

Ok... i have purchased the software and the cable and transfered the freqencies over and it still isn't picking up anything with that setup. I live in La Verne 1 mile north of Pomona, I dont think i am out of range. Wat else can i try?

Yes its the PRO-96, i can get everything BUT Pomona. I uploaded that database to my scanner exactly the way it is on the file, and still nothing. Can you try sending me your file for Pomona and i'll try that out?

Can you hear the control channel? To test, put the scanner on 470.025. You should hear data.

Press FUNC + 5 to put scanner into OPEN mode (for the Pomona bank) and see if you can hear anything this way.
When I get home this evening, I will check the file to make sure I didn't screw up a setting.

It been a while since I have listened to Pomona since they went digital. I borrowed some ones Pro-96 at one time and I remember hearing Pomona (back then). Now, it’s a year or two later, I have a new Pro-106 and for the life of me I can’t get Pomona (anything). Is Pomona still scanable? I used the info in this thread and get nothing. Maybe I’ll keep my old Pro-93 and take back the Pro-96, after all Pomona is the only thing close to me that’s digital (or was). Any help???

Are you using software to program the radio? Perhaps you could post your configuration file somewhere so that other people can inspect it. If you use Win500, I can take a look at your .p500 file.
