After a search, it came up that a lot is encrypted now. I wondered why I haven't heard any transmissions for the last few hours. Just bought a new SDS150 too!

Well, now I am getting traffic again. I sure don't trust what AI says! It is a joke the answers it comes up with.

I had no traffic for hours on 2 scanners. I decides to use google and ask if poplar bluff/ butler have went encrypted. The answer was yes, with the AI answer. Which, was my mistake even considering that answer lol

I needed a socket to replace coil packs on my car a while back. Looked at the bolts and they turned out to be 7/32". AI said they are 17mm, I got a good laugh out of that!

Could you let us know if the SDS150 is any better at mointoring Crawford Weather / CD than the SDS100 & SDS200 radios. Neither could monitor this CD Freq. but for a few seconds before dropping out even though the signal is strong. It happend on your radios & mine.

Of course it may be a while before they broadcast much with our nice weather of late.

Thanks

Crawford security is the official Butler County severe weather spotters.
Crawford Wx 1 = 152.300 MHz Analog
Crawford Wx 2 = 157.560 MHz Analog
Butler County also has several EMA channels

You probably do not remember this since our SDS radios were almost worthless in receiving CD #1 frequencie

I tryed every filter & antenna combo I could and it made NO difference..

I use my BCD436 which has a better VHF receiver & uses WAY less power, so the batteries last much longer.

I will not get the SDS150 if this has not been fixed.

Hope this helps.

I now, understand what you were referring to. At my location, I may not receive those very well anyway. With my wife passing on, I haven't had my head straight for a while. But, I plan to investigate the 150 to the best of my capabilities. I'll try to report my findings on those weather frequencies. As you stated, there's not a lot of action though on those frequencies.

I am very sorry to hear about your wife passing away.

I discovered this afternoon that the CD frequency 152.300 MHz with a analog SQ tone of DCS 734 is no longer listed in Butler County but in the city as their response team, but it has a 192.8 PL. I think I will just add this new find & leave tho older one to see what happens.

I also discovered that my SDS100 & SDS200 need a firmware update from December. Maybe this will solve our problem of the base dropping out after 4 or 5 Seconds. The base is strong, and you had no problem getting it but you were the third person to confirm that it would just drop out & resume scanning. It does not seem to happen with mobiles, however and as mentioned I tried filters, attenuation, different antennas & spectrum analysis without any help.

NO rush seeing if the SDS150 has the same problem as described above as CD is not going to be transmitting much unless things gets bad.

Why not just look it up on Radio Reference?
