Does anyone know what happened to Portland TX. I hear it once in a while on the San Pat and Corpus trunked systems but it is way too quiet.

Found where they went...

Larry,

It seems they snuck a new system in the local EDACS constillation.

Portland it seems is the home for Site 6 set of repeaters. This is what I have so far.

"Site 6" - Is located at 1902 Billy G. Webb Drive, Poretland, TX

Frequencies are:
866.3375
867.3375 (Control)
867.8875
and 868.3375

as far as I can tell the frequencies are in LCN order. I'm to far away from the system to get a good signal for the UNITRUNKER to give me the data I need.

I may take a drive down to the Bayfront and see if I cant get a better signal.

If I do I'll post the data that I get here.

So far I saw the 1649 talk group assigned to Portland PD when I tried to decode the system with the UNITRUNKER. Again I am to far away to get a good "read" on the system.

If you are in Portland give it a go and post what you have.

As always....

Well went down by the Bardge Dock on Corpus Christi Bay so I could hear the System in Portland better.

The UNITRUNKER was able to confirm that the LCN is correct. I only heard Portland PD on this system.

UNITRUNKER showed link actvity with the City of Corpus Christi site on top of 1 Shoreline. Patrol 3 and Patrol 4 were patched together into Patch Group 2.

UNITRUNKER also showed a Radio ID 16166 joining talk group 1976. This is Portland FD's talk group.

With all this I have come to the conclusion that Portland PD and FD may be using this new system located in their city.

EDIT - This system is registered to the City of Portland in the FCC-ULS system. Its not listed under San Patricio County or City of Corpus Christi.

Larry, I hope this helps.

Just wanted to confirm that the 866-868 MHz freqs for this site are correct as posted.. and if so, are the rebanded 851-854 frequencies on the other three San Patricio EDACS sites incorrect? I have a hard time believing that there would be a mix of rebanded and non-rebanded freqs in the same system.

I'll be in the area this weekend, so I'll report back what I find. Also gonna be on the lookout for PL tones for all those unverified VHF fire freqs.

They seem to be correct. l programmed them in my HP-1. I have been listening both PD and EMS/FIRE.

Yep, confirmed that the freqs for the new Portland site are correct and that it's networked to the rest of the San Pat system. Heard Portland PD on the Sinton site, then my scanner hopped over to the Portland site and heard them there without missing a beat. Good reception into metro Corpus.

Unfortunately I heard f-all on the VHF fire freqs, so no confirmations there. I can also confirm that the old VHF SO repeater is not linked to EDACS and was not active the entire time I was there.
