Possible MOTI missing info

I was doing some research on an unrelated project a couple nights ago, and I think I found some info that would make sense and fill the blanks in.

Instead of the frequencies in red, I suggest that they could be 142.6950/138.0150. I found 2 licenses for MOTI for this pair in the Kootaney.

Mt. Nelson: 49.5303, -117.3014
Perry Ridge: 49.5989, -117.6581

CH17: 77.0Hz, CH18: 114.8Hz, CH19: 131.8Hz, CH20: 151.4Hz

I would also suggest that channel 24 would be 142.9950/149.2150
It might be speculation, but it would fit. CH: 23 131.8Hz, CH24: 151.4Hz

There is also a license for the Shelter/Galena Bay ferry. It is NOT held my MOTI

This is all purely speculation, based on some light searching over the last couple days, but this kind of fits, and in my odd ADHD mind, it makes reasonable sense to at least keep an ear out on those two pairs.

If I had to guess, 142.695 is outside of the regular suite of MOTI highway repeaters. Given that the ferry contractor holds a license, then perhaps they are specifically setup for ferry use.

In other parts of the province there are a couple extra repeaters outside of the regular highway rotation that are used by CVSE for example.

Possibly, but neither repeater, besides the ferry license, are near ferries. They are also in completely different valleys than the ferry license. The ferry, from the Mt. Nelson license is 120km and three valleys away.

Fair point. Ferry aside then I guess it could be for CVSE or some other highways projects. Best bet is to just listen in and see who uses it.

Either way, pretty unconventional configuration for MOTI repeater sites. Aside from the few I have seen on the south coast here, they usually have one VHF pair and that is it.

This is legacy stuff from back in the day. There is no longer that repeater in use. Water Bridge ferry uses is 467.525 + 457.525. VHF no longer in use. Having spent weeks in Nakusp recently,plus using those ferries numerous times at the office in Nakusp. There is a VHF antenna outside on roof. Not a peep was heard from that. After speaking with a staffer on boat, they said they don't use VHF any longer

The list goes to 23 only. This was right off a freshly read radio.
