Getting a bit off topic, but the Alinco has a very interesting feature. That noise offset knob shifts the frequency of the switcher a bit. Theoretically, you could use that knob to move the switching frequency away from your frequency of interest.

I have an R&L brand power supply with a "shifter" knob - I think that does the same thing. I did not know until now what that was for - I used it for VHF/UHF, and it hadn't been a problem.

I decided to get the MegaWatt 36A power supply from John Marles. Lots of great reviews of this unit.

Many thanks to everyone who offered their suggestions and knowledge. It is appreciated.

My DMR and HF rigs both sit on their power supply without causing any interference. The power supply on my 2 meter all mode is built right into the radio. If it is a quality unit, there should be no problem.

Well, that's novel. Turning a shortcoming into a feature?

My Alinco sits on the top shelf of a four tier arrangement. On the next shelf down are two VHF/UHF mobiles, then my HF auto tuner, Timewave ANC-4 noise reducer and a breakout box for my headsets. The bottom teir has my HF rig, an iCom ID-751A. I've never noticed any noise from the power supply and I've never used the noise knob to adjust the frequency of the "noise." It just doesn't generate any.
