Hi. I have a BC346xt. I am going to two areas(Las Vegas & Flagstaff) that are pre programmed into the receiver. Can someone please tell me in plain English by the sequence of controls how to set the thing to receive. I'm usually not too bad with technical stuff but this radio absolutely baffles me. Systems, quick keys, groups. I just don't get it. I guess I'm just old school where simple channels and banks made sense. Anyhow. Say I am in Las Vegas. How do I just select "Las Vegas NV-C" or "Flagstaff AZ" and listen? I can see them there. I go Menu>Program System then see the list of locations but that is as far as I get. By default it is running through Atlanta. Please help or point me in the right direction.
PS, Yes I have the "Easier to Read" manual and I get no help there either.
Thank you.

The Flagstaff area's SQK is .37 While the scanner is scanning press .37 to cycle that system on and off. The Las Vegas area SQK is .43

Remember to press the [. no] button before any 2 digit quick key number

See a list of pre-programmed areas and their quick keys here BC346XT Wiki Page

Press the other area's quick keys to disable them until only those you want are scanning ( Atlanta's is .21 ).

Those pre-programmed frequencies are 6 or 7 years old, I doubt if they are any good. I suggest you program your scanner to the areas you will be visiting.

Radio systems have changed a great deal over the last 6 or 7 years. Also those areas may be digital which the 346 can not decode.

Las Vegas Metro Police use OpenSky 9600 baud which no scanner can decode. The other areas you may receive provided they have not changed anything. The trunked systems have probably rebanded so they may not track properly.

Flagstaff PD uses the Northern Arizona University system which may or may not be in the pre-programmed system.

Further information on these areas and what you may/may not hear are listed below:

Las Vegas Frequencies

Flagstaff Frequencies

Anything with a "D" in the mode column, or P25, Digital, APCO-25 Common Air Interface Exclusive, DMA, TRBO, Project 25 Phase I, you won't be able to receive.

The DB shows only Metro PD going digital, Open Sky, and/or P25 Phase II, and there is a note about them patching to the old analog channels.

Everything else appears to be analog.
