The president is coming to Louisville Friday so get your scanners set and ready, it should make for some interesting listening.I don't know about you but I get a kick out of hearing Air Force One coming in for a landing at Louisville International.

Here are the freqs that the secret service will be using during the president's visit.I don't think that they are encrypted.The most active frequencies used before and during a presidential or vice presidential visit are Baker, Charlie, Mike, and Tango, as well as any channel designated for use by the WHCA. The frequency used most as a nationwide primary repeater channel is Charlie, followed by Baker.

Also check out the MilAir UHF frequencies for Combat Air Patrol activities during the visit. The CAPs usually have a tanker a/c in addition to the fighters and an AWACs mixed in. We'll monitor from Bowling Green.

I heard some non-encrypted activity on 164.100 yesterday as well as what I think were some encrypted transmissions on another freq.What I heard were some transmissions that sounded like static but were vary strong and couldn't be squelched out.

I saw from Special use airspace site there is tanker ops scheduled. I could have gone to work with my wife, she's working across from the hotel. But I think I'll do my monitoring from my favorite elevated listening post.

If you're in Louisville, don't forget New Albany's LTR system and Safe-T traffic off of the Henryville and Floyd towers.

121.5/Emergency/Guard frequency. Unk aircraft has entered restricted airspace. Warning aircraft to exit area immediately. Only ID heard was AirForce OnGuard. Possibly an AWACs. Check it out.

I heard alot on New Albany's LTR system, and LMPD, Got to hear Air Force One Land before I had to go to work(second shift YUK!) Heard them warning the aircraft also. As I was driving down I-64 East down Floyd Knobs, I could see all of the air traffic taking a hard right turn just before the airport, some of the pilots were complaning of the turbulence at that altitude(was very windy). I guess the normal pattern was restricted at that time. Had my 96 and 97 going at the same time! It was Great!

I heard and SAW Air Force One take off,they flew over my neighborhood.Just as I feared the Secret Service was using encrypted radios,all I heard from them was garbeled static.

I don't remember what the freqs were, after a while of hearing nothing but static I just locked the SS freqs out and stuck to the LMPD and ATC frequencies.

I did the same, I also listened to the Floyd County LTR system, they had thier hands full at Silver St. Elementary School.
