Has anyone else noticed that the Trunking CC indicator flashes like it's on steroids? It's the "T" in the black box on the top display line. Mine flashes like crazy when I'm receiving on a CC - problem or normal?

If it's flashing rapidly then it is receiving the priority talkgroups and the like on a Type II system. If it's doing this on P25, then I think you have a problem.

It's on a Motorola Type II Smartnet system - so, I'll consider it normal...

Thanks.

When monitoring a control channel, this is an indication that it is decoding data, and is normal. If you're on a control channel and it's not flashing, then the signal isn't good enough to decode.

On Motorola analog systems, while listening to voice frequencies, this will indicate that there is low speed data being transmitted. Sometimes this contains priority talkgroup information.

So this indicator is normal any time the radio is receiving data that it can decode.
