I'm working with a new pro106 and I'm trying to program some P25 convetional frequencies. I put in the frequency, change the squelch mode to P25, but where the display reads "NAC:Search" I can't figure out how to program in the proper code. Before someone says "Read the manual", I have. I've only found one reference to NAC Codes where it explains what they are, but nothing on how to actually program them in. Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Here is the sequence to putting in the NAC code manually:

1. Go to the channel you want to program
2. Hit PGM
3. Hit EDIT
4. Hit CURRENT
5. Use the down arrow to navigate to P25 NAC
6. Use right arrow
7. Type in the NAC code if you know it
8. Hit SAVE

No problem, good luck. If you happen to have the USB programming cable, Win500 software's free 30-day trial might be something you would like to try. You can program the Pro-106 very easily with it.

I do, but I'm not doing too bad by hand so far. Another issue with the nac codes though. Some of the codes call for alpha entry rather than numerical. One code is "CSQ", however, I can only enter the C, it won't take the "SQ" characters. any ideas?

CSQ= Carrier SQuelch. No CTCSS/DCS/NAC.

Thanks for that input Larry, if not for all the great people such as yourself I'd be lost with this rig. But with a little help and a lot of patience, I've been able to program several systems by hand, and they work! Thanks again Larry,

N5PMK, Randy
