Anyone in Allen County Indiana (Fort Wayne) having trouble receiving county Fire dispatch on the P25 system after they switched off the VHF simulcast? I noticed about 5 frequencies listed on the RR database for this system that are not on the Sentinal list. It appears all the control channels are there but there are 5-6 frequencies within the system that are missing from the database. Would this cause me to consistently not be able to hear County Fire Dispatch? I'm at a loss to figure it out. I have 4 SDS scanners and its the same with all of them. They all seemed to work fine until a few months back they switched off the simulcast the broadcast on the old VHF channel. Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated.

Update the DB on your scanners. Fire Disp used to be listed as encrypted. Some time ago the listing changed on Fire Disp, and handful of other fire channels. I believe that change was more than "a few month ago" though.

It was actually a year ago when they stopped simulcasting on VHF.

As long as the four control channels are programmed into the scanner, it will automatically receive all channels on the P25 system. County fire is TGID 2001, control channels are 853.275, 853.300, 853.7625, and 853.8375. I checked in Sentinel and all the correct info and all channels are included in the database, so as suggested by @west-pac , make sure your database is up to date.

I'll be there in June. Is this still accurate or did they go encrypted?

Co fire and ops 11-16 will stay unencrypted. When it switched it was due to out of county departments either not having capable radios or having issues needing to rekey.
