Pro-106 P25 trunking question

I have a pro-106 with a bank set up for wilcard or "open mode" for a P25 trunking system in my area. I have no delay enabled on the wildcard talkgroup or the tsys system. Whenever it stops on an active talkgroup there is a 5-10 sec delay i wish to get rid of or decrease time wise as i am missing to much traffic holding on that one talkgroup for so long. I know there expert settings for P25 trunking system, does anyone no how to change this delay.

Sheesh. I know what you mean. I dont have any p25 trunking close by, but a butload of p25 conventional systems. I got 2 that mixes analog with p25, and it's next to impossible to get that channel to have no delay. The tail end of the transmission holds it there 2 seconds anyhow.. It is a pain. If theres a way--please tell us.

The default delay time for any and all objects is 2 seconds. To change it you can increase it or decrease it. Just go to the object you want to change and change it, it's all in the manual. You can also change it through your scanner programming software.

P25

I have no delay enabled in any object or the TSYS. It is all selected to no and i am still getting about a 5 second delay only on the P25 trunking system even without delay enabled on any object, i am pretty sure it has to do with expert settings but i am not sure which one to change from the default.

This is going to be delayed because I have not posted 4 times yet. It is in the expert settings. Glob>expert>search delay:20 (2 Seconds) is normal. Select then turn it down. I have mine at 10 (1.0 seconds)

Hope this helps. And you have to do this to every freq you have in there as far as I know right now. PITA (pain in the a**)

By default every object has a 2 second delay. I actually find delay is better to increase so that you don't miss replies to calls. There is a 0 second dwell time set for trunk systems. I have the ones I want to hear more set to higher values, but you can set any object to any time you wish.

P25

Okay so i have checked and rechecked , the p25 system i have programmed has no delay on the wildcard, no delay on the tsys and dwell is set to 0, the setting under global delay is set to off. I am still having about a 3-4 second delay at the end of transmissions. I even set the delay to on to test it and it definetaly was delayed significantly longer. On another system MOT II i have programmed in with no delay set, the scanner resumes tracking immediately at the end of the conversation unlike the P25 system. Weird to say the least

Are you manually programming or using software? Be sure that you select the column to show for Delay if you are using software. You will notice a normal few seconds delay at the end of a transmission anyway as most systems have a delay set, some longer, some shorter. I don't know if you are scrolling far enough through to where the delay is for the object. Delay ON/OFF is the first parameter under the Expert Settings, and Delay Time is the second parameter. After setting any parameter and you are through, you must press SAVE.

P25 Trunking

I am scrolling far enough down to see that the delay is set to off. I am pretty comfortable with programming this scanner with the exception of expert settings. I was asking the question because there are some expert settings that may have to do with the delay i am having, and maybe as you said this is a normal thing on this particular system.
