So i am new to all of this scanning stuff and own the pro-106. I used a scanner software to program all my freq for my states trunked system and the talkgroups and they all uploaded. My scanner is not scanning properly. i am able to hear transmissions on my work pacset but not an the scanner... I was told i would see a "t" on my scanner display when it was picking up a trunked system and i am not seeing that. i only see a "g" and an "a" along with the signal bar. ANY IDEAS????

If you are seeing both "G" & "A" on your screen, then global attenuation has been turned on. To turn off the attenuation, simply press the ATT button... the "A" should disappear. I believe to turn off global attenuation press the FUNC key then the ATT key.

Hopefully that will allow the radio to hear the state system.

Good Luck,
Keith

The "T" indicates you are scanning a trunked system, did you get the control channels for your particular area and system programmed?

I can confirm that a "T" is flashing on my display as it scans, but not when it is receiving a message.

What state? What County? And what city or city's are you trying to listen to?

Is your state digital or analog or a mix or edacs etc etc....?

So, is it picking up any trunked transmissions? If not, maybe try downloading again.

Is the scanner picking up anything? Or even scanning?

You have to assign the talk groups to a scan list, then upload to your scanner. Then make sure you are scanning the list you assigned.
