HI,everything goes good till I get down where I type in mot vhf/uhf and then when I get to tag mine says system instead of wildcard,when I continue on nowhere does it say wildcard and when I finish up sometimes it says talk group unsaved changes.I will try it again a couple of times again tomorrow,as I must still be doing something wrong

Thanks for expert help,I don't know what I did but I finally got it working with the wildcard like you said.It receives both the opp and the ambulance calls,digit and analog.Can you tell me how to save this set-up to one of the v folders as I am afraid I will lose it some how.

V-Folders are super easy. Just hit FUNC then PGM. Then you should have 3 options I think (I don't have the radio in front of me) Load, Save and Exit (or Cancel maybe). Use the Up/Down buttons to select the slot you want to save in (It should be on 1 by default) then just hit Save... it will give you the chance to change the name of the V-Folder if you choose... then it should save the file. Scan will get you back out. Should you somehow mess things up and you want to revert back to what you had... same steps. FUNC-PGM, then hit Load instead of Save.

Thanks again for you help in getting this radio going,I don't I would of gotten awaywhere on my own.Now that I know this radio works fine,I will look int getting the programing cable and a program to make my life easier.Do you have a number for the cable and a good program and where I might purchase them?

Best bet is to head to the States and pick one up.

we normally talk "American" re: RadioShack since the Canadian "Source" sucks for scanners and accessories. AFAIK, The Source does not sell those programming cables.

If you cannot get across the border, best to post a "wanted" ad for one in the classified section of this website.

Myself, I prefer PSREdit with Win500 a very close 2nd.

Seeing as you are in Sarnia, your best bet is likely to just pop over into Pt Huron and grab one at Radio Shack. Beyond that, here is one on Ebay for $30. Ships from Canada too.
