HI,Can any one tell me how to program in the OPP freq. for the Brantford ,Ontario area.into a pro 106.I got this scanner for christmas and I am getting nowhere with it.
Thanks Dan
Thanks Dan
Thanks,I was just reading your site,I will try it tomorrow,Check my sticky at the top of this forum.
Ok Mike, what is 1opso1You'll want the Brantford site and listen for 1OPS01. Brant County units are 1Bravo.
What is 1opso1 ?
OK,I think I am starting to understand,I had many scanners in my day,but this pro 106 is the most difficult I have run into to program.Basically, it is a short form of Zone 1 Operations channel 1
The Ops channels are listed numerically and alphabetically in the database.
Thanks for the info,do I have to enter all the channel freq. or just the control and the alt.freq.http://forums.radioreference.com/ontario/199317-pro-106-a.html

I have spent 5 hours today trying to program this radio and getting no where, most of the time when I try to scan allI get is a "nothing enabled "message.Haven't got a clue where I am going wrong.HelpCheck my sticky at the top of this forum.
I will try it again tomorrow ,and I have read the manual on programing it at least 6 times and it still comes out the same.I must be missing a step.I didn't know they made some data that is drag and drop, where is that found?Once you are done programming try pressing the "1" button on the keypad- (when it says "Nothing Enabled") hopefully you tossed everything into that zone on your scanner.![]()
Also may be of assistance to read the manual.
If both those fail, I would suggest just purchasing the premium membership here, purchasing the data/programming cable for the scanner, (USB cable) and finding some suitable software for easy data "drag and drop" from the database here.
Manually programming those are NOT fun- I won't even try it for trunking systems. Far less headaches and grey hair from following the second paragraph above.
HI,which one are you refering to.Did ya read the sticky at the top of the thread list?
HI,which one are you refering to.
Thanks Dan
OK,thanks I will check it out tomorrowMike is referring to the following thread..
http://forums.radioreference.com/ontario/31989-programming-your-pro-96-pro-106-psr-500-fleetnet.html
Hope that can assist you.
HI,everything goes good till I get down where I type in mot vhf/uhf and then when I get to tag mine says system instead of wildcard, when I continue on nowhere does it say wildcard and when I finish up sometimes it says talk group unsaved changes.I will try it again a couple of times again tomorrow,as I must still be doing something wrongTo hopefully save you some trouble...
- Hit PGM, then FUNC GLOB
- Scroll down to BANDPLAN=(CANADA/USA)... make sure its set to Canada, save the changes
- Now go PGM, NEW, TGRP
- TSYS - New, System type is MOT VHF/UHF
- Frequencies: Hit SEL then enter the Primary and Alternate control channels for the sites you want. Hit Save when done
- T Tables: Hit SEL, then SEL again to select Table 01
* For Table 01 enter: Lo Chan 380, Hi Chan 759, Offset 380, Base 141.0150, Step 15. Hit Save when done.
* For Table 02 enter: Lo Chan 380, Hi Chan 759, Offset 579, Base 151.7300, Step 15. Hit Save when done.
* For Table 03 enter: Lo Chan 380, Hi Chan 759, Offset 632, Base 154.3200, Step 15. Hit Save when done.
When entering the frequencies, you can just enter the Primary and Alternate frequencies for the site you are trying to listen to (in your case 141.70500 and 142.59000).
Now the scanner is setup to scan Fleetnet, but it doesn't know what you want to listen to. You can either enter the specific talkgroups you want, or enter a wildcard talkgroup (that will enable everything basically). To just get you up and running, I would suggest using a wildcard to make sure everything else is ok:
- Hit Scan on the radio.... it will likely saying there is nothing to scan (which is correct)
- Hit PGM, NEW then TGRP
- Your first entry is what scanlist you want to use. Let's use 1, so hit the SEL button which should put a * next to the 01. This means you have selected Scan List 01.
- For TSYS you want to select the system you just programmed in. Use the Left and Right arrow keys to scroll thru systems you have programmed in (in your case, there is likely only one)
- Next entry down is where you enter the talkgroup ID. It should already say 'Wildcard' so we can leave this alone. The next line down after that should show Type: Group. This means the wildcard you programmed in is a talkgroup wildcard (not an I-Call or Private ID wildcard). Leave this as is too,
That should be pretty much all you need. Hit Save, then scan again (if it doesn't start scanning on it's own). With any luck you should start hearing some activity!
Once you get all this under your belt we can step you thru programming in specific talkgroups and setting up more than one scan list. It's highly recommended that you get a programming cable and some software for this however... it will save a LOT of time and frustration.
HI,are you saying I have to enter the t tables 2x as that part went in ok,it was after that that the wildcard didn't show up.I will try it again tomorrow. The Tag: System is still in the system setup. Just arrow down past that to where it says Frequencies: SEL. Hit select there to enter your primary and alternate control channel. Hit Save to exit that section. Now arrow down to the T Tables: Custom line. Hit SEL again and enter the table data as listed above. Be sure to save after each one, then save to exit that section to go back to the main setup menu. Hit Save once more, and that will take you out of the System setup and back to the main setup menu. Now you should see Wildcard on the next line down. Actually... it's there by default. So just hit Save again, then Scan and you should be off to the races.
