Thats just great!
I purchased a second BCT-15(used from a friend in mint shape) because I missed out on the sale that just passed for the pro-163. I thought,"they wont put it on sale any time soon" Well, WRONG AGAIN! Now I'll HAVE to go out and get it, DARN.....LOL.....Seriously though, I dont know if this scanner is worth getting now that I have 2 bct 15s and my 996 digital. HMMMM.....

I wonder if they are just trying to thin out their inventory before announcing the new RS-106? Would make sense...

Dumping the 96/2096 makes sense for that reason, this is just a sale like RS always has. I never paid full price for any of my RS scanners as they usually are on sale every other month.

I have issues. I don't need another one, but really want to try that PRO-162.

I will wait for the Uniden announcement supposedly coming at the end of the month.

Which One to Buy...

This latest sale has me pondering. I will need to replace my last PRO-2055 base once my county rebands. The PRO-163 is $20 less than the PSR-400, and I can have it today. However, GRE has better support, and now I see the Radio Company is selling it for $180, plus shipping. I'm quite happy with my PSR-500, so I know GRE's support first hand. I invite any input.

It's a great scanner, essentially the same. However, no GRE support.
And RS support is not all that great. You can use Win97 for both.

I like the the RS shack model, but GRE has already had 2 additional firmware updates than RS. And I don't know if they include the AC adpater. You know RS doesn't.

Whatever you decide, it won't be wrong. But I'm looking for a GRE 500, soon RS will carry the equivalent model, but I'll try and buy the GRE version just because the support seem better.
