First, unless DonS has changed it, the sofware is free for a thirty day trial. You have to unzip the software. Then right click on on My Computer. Click on Properties. Click on Hardware. Click on Device Manager. Scroll down to Com Ports. Now, make sure the radio is on, the cable is plugged into the scanner. Click on Universal Serial Bus controllers. The com port to use will be shown. Then in the software, click on Configuration. Click on serial port. Change it to what the USB port is. Download the radio to the software. Continue on from there to program.
