I have several frequencies programmed into my scanner (PRO-164). I am having one problem however. I am trying to program the frequency 460.02000 MHz. When I do this, the scanner enters it as 460.01875. Even if I try to get more accurate but not right on the frequency I want and input 460.02050 or something to that effect, it still automatically inputs 460.01875, not the 460.02000 I want. This is the only frequency I have had this problem with in the several months I have had this scanner. I was thinking .02 MHz is between the steps for the frequency band or that it might be a glitch in the scanner software. To test this, I entered 465.02 and it also was entered automatically as 465.01875. As a result of this frequency differential, all signals received on the channel, containing 460.01875, are rather static filled.

What is that frequency (460.020000 MHz) supposed to be? According to the FCC search via RR, that frequency isn't licensed anywhere in the USA.

Is this the frequency you are trying to input? it is .2 not .02.

Programming my PRO-164

No. I have the frequency 460.2000 already. According to the listings, there should be a 460.02 also. If there is not, that is fine, but I sometimes get a staticy TX on that frequency (actually 460.01875). I currently have that channel locked out. Thank you for your time.

It could be a simplex frequency on 460.01875 and you just aren't close enough to hear it clearly. Unfortunately, the step size for those frequencies is 6.25Khz. Do you have an older scanner in which to check and see if 460.02 will work?
