Pro 197 problems installing software

Can someone please help
I am a subscriber to this site. Was under the understanding I could get software to load my scanner. The links this site referred me to, is asking for another fee. What's up with that?

You can use the 30 day free trial to see which software you like, but you do have to pay for it. You must have it to download from RR or some kind of software, but it is a lot easier that trying to do it by hand. I use Win500 for My 197 and 106.

The providers of the software are seperate and distinct entities in business for themselves. They are not part of RadioReference. The site and the programs are able to interact because of agreements between the providers and RR.
