Curious...since the scanner only allows 32 control channels for trunking, how do you guys handle, say, Starcom or DTRS? Can you do multiple systems in the same scan list, but download the talkgroups only once and assign them to that scan list? Thanks!

Talkgroups have to go with trunked system (TSYS). But you can have multiple TSYS assigned to a single scanlist.

In a practical sense you can't effectively scan 32 control channels. The fewer the better.
I program areas or zones for when I travel and I enable/disable scanlists as I go. (Colorado DTRS)

That makes sense..thanks much! I'll be out that way next year when I drive across I-90 again and down I-25...lots of systems going into my scanner!

Be sure and check the Colorado forum for the sticky pointing to which towers to program along the way. Many of the towers are just for local short-range service. The ones in the list give you the best choices for wide coverage.
