Hey everyone, I'm in the middle of bidding on a pro-2005 over on Ebay. I was curious what you all think of those. Just as reaasurance, it does cover pretty much everything between 25-520 Mhz, correct? (like military aircraft, UHF aircraft, etc)

Just some questions:

How is it on sensitivity?
Does the regular antenna on it do any good for reception?

What kind of antenna do you suggest? I can't put an outside one, as I live in an apartment, and it would need to be somewhat discreet (like behind the desk, or something)

Thanks, guys and gals.

It covers 25-1300 with few breaks

If you don't mind hand programming, no computer control, no trunking, no tone, no digital it is a GREAT radio.

There are a ton of mods for it.

They have backlight issues.

Same as the 2006 with a couple of mods.

It is my search and store radio as well. I have 2 2006s both with some sort of computer control.

Once you get that look around to see if you can find an OS456 or OS456 lite

Also look for Bill Cheeks mod books, and articles online.

Bill has since passed on but he gave alot to the hobby.

Good Luck!

I use a 2006 with a CSI Connect Systems CD-1 tone reader. Best combo you can get. I dont use 2006 as a primary scanner but as a test unit. You can use a large outdoor ant of anytype. Works good in all ranges. There is a lot you can do with them and they are KEEPERS. Good Luck
