Pro-2042 YIKES!

I was looking for a good 2042 for Milair to add to my shack and maybe do a mod here or there. I ran into THIS guy Brand New RadioShack PRO-2042 1000 Channel 110Vac Brand New Beautiful 1st class! | eBay who has not one but two brand new ones in the box. Now, I'm ok with paying a little extra to get a classic in brand new condition, but this guy is way over priced.

That is a classic. Why not one of the newer Computer programmable Scanners? They make programming so easy and much faster.

When Radio Shack was closing them out, I think I paid around $150 each for them.
Then, I ordered European CPU's from Javiation in the UK for some small price for full coverage.

They're a nice scanner for what they'll do.
I still have six of them running 24/7 here.

A BCT15X can be had for cheaper than that 'used' price and is a little more flexible.

Guys, I currently run 4 BCT15Xs 2 996XTs and a 996P2 in my shack, all set up nicely for civil and Milair.
This was just for doing searches at random, without having to disturb any of the main scanners. I also wanted to hack one a little, carrier indicator LED, Disc tap, signal meter, etc. Meant to be for fun nothing too serious. At $150 I would feel comfortable, but at HIS prices, I can't justify buying one just to play around with.
